Allan Bogan

Chief Operating Officer

Allan Bogan is USCJ’s Chief Operating Officer. In this role, he oversees synagogue leadership work, supports the marketing and USY teams, and provides guidance and direction on operations with USCJ’s leadership team.

Allan’s 30-year nonprofit career has included 18 years in leadership and management roles at Jewish Community Centers in Chicago and Milwaukee, followed by several years as Vice President of Community Impact at international BBYO and most recently as the Chief Operating Officer at Action for Healthy Kids, a national nonprofit serving schools, school districts, and families in partnership to improve child health.

Allan continues his ongoing learning and professional development as a senior fellow in the distinguished Schusterman Foundation’s executive leadership program. Allan also volunteers as a peer advisory group facilitator and mentor for the Chicago area’s Charmm’d Foundation leadership development program. He received his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Indiana University, master’s degree in nonprofit management from Spertus College in Chicago, and a certificate in Jewish leadership from Northwestern University & Spertus College. Originally from Denver, Colorado, Allan has lived his adult life in the Chicago metro area with his wife, Robyn, and 2 young adult children, Isabel and Josie. 

If he has any additional free time, he plays basketball, takes long walks along Chicago’s beautiful lakefront, plays with two loving doggies, and cheers on his favorite childhood Colorado sports teams.
