Meet USCJ’s New Chief Operating Officer: Allan Bogan

Allan is thrilled to be named as the new Chief Operating Officer at United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism (USCJ) where he’ll manage and grow a robust team in Synagogue Leadership, Teen Engagement programs, marketing, and indirectly supporting the entire staff. He will also help others at USCJ deliver measurable, cost-effective results that make its vision a reality in ways consistent with its values.

Allan is a 25+ year, experienced executive working his entire career in local, state, and national non-profit, social service organizations. Highlights of his professional career include: leadership and management roles over 18 years at Jewish Community Centers in Chicago and Milwaukee, followed by a number of years as Vice President of Community Impact at international BBYO where he oversaw the staffing and operations of BBYO across 20+ Midwest and Mid-Atlantic communities, and most recently as the Chief Operating Officer at Action for Healthy Kids, where he oversaw all of the operations, staffing, evaluation and research, marketing and communications, and the fundraising and development function of the national organization.

Allan continues his ongoing learning and professional development as a Senior Fellow in the distinguished Schusterman Foundation’s executive leadership program. Allan also volunteers as an Advisory Board member, mentor, and Peer Advisory Group Facilitator for the Chicago area’s Charmm’d Foundation Leadership Development Program. He received his undergraduate degree in Psychology from Indiana University, Masters degree in Non-Profit Management from Spertus College in Chicago, and a Certificate in Jewish Leadership from Northwestern University & Spertus College.
