Sarah Bochenek

USY Program Coordinator Midbar Area (AZ, NV, UT, CO)

Sarah serves at the USY Program Coordinator Midbar Area (AZ, NV, UT, CO). She graduated from Stockton University with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Theater Performance and a minor in Judaic Studies, and holds a Masters of Science in Psychology from University of Phoenix. Sarah was born and raised in South Jersey and moved to Arizona in 2007 where she became the Youth Advisor at Temple Beth Sholom of the East Valley where she eventually turned into Youth Director. In 2015 she began co-programming with the other AZ and NV chapters and has continued that connection by planning Shabbatons, kinnusim, turnaround trips, a traveling lounge and more. In 2022, Sarah began working with Congregation Or Tzion as their Youth Director also. This has proven to be an exciting and wonderful combination. With Or Tzion she has successfully planned two (going on three) Kadima Kinnus conventions and three Turnaround trips to California. Over the years, Sarah has helped the youth in these programs earn several individual and chapter awards, staffed countless regional conventions, to which most she has driven the AZ participants.

When Sarah cannot be found at one synagogue or another, she can be found enjoying time with her Husband Benjamin and their 5 year old Gabriel who has her very busy with science experiments, reading and board games.

Sarah looks forward to more connecting in the “Midbar” area, more co-programming and all things USY!
