Rabbi Ilan Schwartz
Director of Leadership Development
Rabbi Ilan Schwartz is serving as director of leadership development for USY. Ilan sees leadership development as a key component of success for USY, and is committed to bringing his skills and new ideas to train the next generation of USY leaders to enrich their communities and the Conservative/ Masorti movement.
Originally from New City, NY, Ilan was an active USY member and leader, participating in USY on Wheels, Israel Pilgrimage, and Nativ. During college, Ilan served as a staff member on these programs, before becoming director of USY on Wheels from 2007-2010. After receiving his rabbinic ordination from the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies, Ilan served as the senior Jewish educator and assistant director at the Hillel at The Ohio State University, and the executive director of Hillel at Emory University.
Ilan currently lives in Atlanta, GA with his wife Rebecca (whom he met on Nativ), and 5 children. In his spare time, Ilan enjoys building Legos with his sons and watching his beloved sports teams, the Mets, Giants, Knicks, and Duke Basketball.
