Parker Weber
Community Director and Program Coordinator
Parker Weber is the USY Community Director in Chicagoland and surrounding areas, fondly referred to as CHUSY. As the Community Director, with the help of the fantastic USY chapters and their chapter staff, Parker engages 2nd-12th graders in impactful programming, leadership development, Tikkun Olam projects, and Judaic learning. Parker connects and collaborates with partners inside and outside the Movement to provide opportunities for participants to connect with a broader community, enhance the quality of programming, and offer a unique variety of opportunities.
Parker’s passion for Conservative/Masorti Judaism stems from his Chicagoland Jewish High School (CJHS) education, now known as Rochelle Jewish High School. Parker majored in middle and high school social studies in college with an ESL endorsement from Bradley University. After graduating, Parker worked as a long-term substitute teacher at Major Hector P. Garcia High School on the south side of Chicago and an ELL tutor at Adlai Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire, IL. In 2020, Parker began teaching full-time 7th and 8th grade social studies, public speaking, and debate at Thomas Jefferson Junior High School in Woodridge, IL. In the summers, Parker worked as a camp counselor and unit head at Elaine Frank Apachi in Lake Zurich, IL. While teaching, Parker became the USY Youth Advisor at Congregation Beth Judea (CBJ) in Long Grove, IL. Parker loved it so much that he applied and became the CHUSY Engagement Director in 2023. In his current role, Parker continues creating excellent chapter programs as the Youth Advisor at CBJ with Youth Director and USY Director of Chapter Outreach and Initiatives Marc Sender. When Parker is not doing USY work, you can find him jamming out on the keyboard with his band, cranking out a novel in a coffee shop, reading a book, going for a morning run, or spending quality time with his family and friends.
