Marc Sender

Director of Chapter Outreach and Initiatives

Marc Sender has worked with many different regions and in many different capacities before his current roles as the Director of Chapter Outreach & Initiatives and the Interim Director of Community Based Engagement across North America. He has a lifelong connection to USY, from attending CHUSY Encampment as a young child, where his father served as a camp doctor. Marc grew up in the Chicago “CHUSY” region, serving in multiple positions on chapter and regional boards throughout his time in USY.  Marc started officially working with USY at the chapter level over 17 years ago on the youth staff at Congregation Beth Judea in Long Grove, IL.  Marc has a degree in education from Northeastern Illinois University, where he graduated summa cum laude. Marc has experience in both business and education, having worked for many years helping to train new employees in large restaurant corporations and five years teaching public school before coming to work for USCJ/USY full-time in 2018.  Marc has received numerous honors for his work, including being named by JUF Chicago as one of the 36 Under 36 in 2018 and subsequently being honored with the T’ruma Award in 2022 for his dedication to youth in the Chicagoland area.  In his current role, Marc is working to strengthen USY chapters across North America and enhance engagement opportunities for all of our North American communities. Outside of his time in USY, Marc enjoys coaching his children’s baseball and softball teams, getting involved in local politics, volunteering at the local food pantry, and spending time in the suburbs of Chicago (where he currently resides) with his wife and three kids, and their dogs, Ginger and Heinz.
