Brad Sugar

Chief Development Officer

Brad Sugar joined USCJ in 2024 as Chief Development Officer and is honored to support our vibrant center of Jewish expression at this critical point in American Jewry. His enthusiasm for USCJ stems from life-altering experiences at Camp Ramah and USY as a teen. Brad oversees USCJ’s growing development infrastructure, which includes major gifts, grants, planned giving, donor engagement, and events. As a 20-year nonprofit communal professional and lifelong volunteer, he has vast experience across the full spectrum of Jewish institutions and focuses predominantly on fundraising, management, and organizational strategy.  Brad comes to USCJ from AJWS, where he successfully implemented a major gift strategy and worked with donors across the country as its Midwest Director to raise several million dollars annually in support of disaster relief and for marginalized communities across the globe. Brad’s prior experience includes major gift work as a Senior Development Executive for AFHU, overseeing Jewish Student Connection as its National Director, and programmatic support for the JUF’s JCRC as its Senior Associate. Brad holds a master’s of business administration from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management, a master’s in Jewish Professional Studies from Spertus, and a bachelor’s in Political Science from the University of Michigan. He lives in Evanston with Shaina, his incredible wife of 21 years, and is a proud father to three amazing sons. He spends his spare time playing basketball, losing to his kids in video games, and playing guitar in his 90’s cover band, “Members of the Vibe.”
