This week as we celebrate Shabbat, Kehillah (community) means something different than it ever has in the past. Due to COVID-19, USY and USCJ events, public gatherings, schools, and theater performances, have been cancelled, and public health officials have advised us to “socially distance” ourselves from each other. USY and USCJ ask you to respect the CDC and advice from public health professionals, however our commitment to our Jewish community tells us that connections are precious.
During this trying time, we must all find new ways to connect to one another as individuals and as a Kehillah. Today’s technology allows us to connect in new and different ways – and to be creative in what connection means.
USY Alumni Virtual Havdalah Service
Please connect with us this Saturday evening at 8:30 PM (CDT) for an on-line Havdalah service led by Rabbi Joshua Rabin, Senior Director of Teen Engagement, and featuring music by USY alumna Lauren Scott. After Havdalah, “hang out” with other USY alumni and Rabbi Rabin as he takes questions about his vision for the future of USY. While we can’t be together in body – we can definitely be together in spirit!
