USCJ Launches Digital Community Platform

Share

After nearly a year in the making, we are thrilled to launch The Commons, USCJ’s digital community platform for lay and professional leadership of our member congregations to share ideas and resources, engage in conversation and create networks of purpose.

The Commons was created to support our mission of strengthening congregations by:

  • Fostering the creation and deepening of relationships among the leadership of our kehillot and USCJ
  • Facilitating the sharing of ideas and resources
  • Empowering members to develop their own affinity groups (clubs and cohorts), for their leadership teams, within our broader community
  • Directing synagogue leaders to forums of relevance on topics such as development and fundraisingdigital engagement and disability inclusion
  • Further enabling our network to seek meaning together as we advance the role that an authentic and dynamic Judaism plays in the world

Over the next few months, as The Commons evolves and expands, we will be inviting the participants of our listservs (email discussion lists) to join us in our digital community and to begin participating in the forums and clubs in which they are interested. We anticipate closing down most of our email discussion lists by late October.

Congregations that host their listservs with USCJ will need to contact Howard Goldberg, our Digital Community Manager, to discuss how they will best be able to leverage The Commons to meet the needs of their community. We will work with each kehilla individually to make the process as smooth as possible and on a timeline that is manageable.

Even if you are a participant on a current listserv that has not “officially” been invited to The Commons yet, we encourage you to sign-up for The Commons right away and to invite others members of your leadership team to join you.

Note: To be eligible for membership in The Commons, you must belong to a USCJ affiliated congregation or one of USCJ’s partner organizations. Learn more about membership guidelines
