December 24th, 2019 (New York, NY) — USCJ, the network of conservative Jewish congregations across North America, today announced the promotion of Rabbi Joshua Rabin to Senior Director of Teen Engagement, leading USY and Nativ youth initiatives. He will report to Leslie Lichter Interim CEO. With USCJ since 2014, he most recently held the position of Senior Director of Synagogue Leadership. “We are thrilled to announce the well-deserved promotion of Rabbi Josh Rabin,” Leslie Lichter, USCJ Interim CEO said. “With his lifelong connection and commitment to USY, Rabbi Rabin will prepare us for the next decade.” The decision was made by a search committee consisting of lay leaders, rabbis, and USY alumni from across North America.

Prior to USCJ, Rabin served as the rabbi-in-residence at the Schechter School of Long Island, New York. His lifelong connection to USY began as a young teenager in Baltimore, Maryland where he was a Chapter USY President, Regional President of Seaboard Region USY and USY’s Religion/Education Vice-President.

Rabbi Rabin holds a bachelor of arts degree in philosophy and Jewish studies from the University of Maryland at College Park. He received his rabbinic ordination, certificate in pastoral counseling, and master’s in Jewish education from the Jewish Theological Seminary.
