This past weekend, 61 enthusiastic Jewish young professionals gathered for a memorable Shabbaton filled with tradition, learning, and fun. The weekend’s highlight was a beautiful, ruach-filled Shabbat, with all services led by our talented YALA participants, creating a meaningful and uplifting atmosphere for everyone.
The event kicked off with icebreakers and interactive activities, offering a relaxed and welcoming space for attendees to get to know each other. On Saturday night, we gathered for an exciting Axe-Throwing event—an unexpected yet thrilling way to bond and unwind.
We were honored to have Hazzan Jacob “Milk” Sandler as our guest presenter, who shared his deep musical and mystical insights, adding a unique spiritual touch to our weekend. His teachings resonated deeply with the group, sparking thought-provoking conversations and reflections.
One of the key discussions was led by Rabbi Ashira Konigsburg, USCJ’s Chief Movement Strategy Officer, who guided an interactive session on the future of Conservative/Masorti Judaism. The thoughtful exchange left everyone inspired and engaged, eager to continue the conversation and explore ways to shape the future of our movement.
Throughout the weekend, there was ample time for attendees to mingle and connect with fellow young adults, forging new friendships and strengthening bonds within the community.
The Shabbaton was a wonderful blend of inspiration, learning, and connection. We can’t wait for the next one!
