This session gives synagogue leaders a practical and grounded understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and how it can support the work of Jewish communal leadership. Designed for beginners, the class demystifies key concepts—what AI is (and is not), how it works, and the tools that are most relevant for congregational life.
Through real synagogue-based examples, we explore how AI can enhance communication, improve administrative efficiency for staff, support volunteer work, and more. We also discuss ethical considerations, boundaries, and best practices to ensure responsible and values-aligned use of these emerging technologies.
By the end of the session, leaders will have a clear understanding of where AI can be useful in synagogue settings, what to avoid, and how to begin experimenting thoughtfully and confidently.
There will be additional workshops for those with a more advanced understanding of A.I.
