Eight 20/20 Judaism Resources for Eight Nights of Hanukkah

Share

Earlier this month, the Conservative Jewish movement joined together for 20/20 Judaism — a collaborative convention of USCJ (United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism) and the RA (Rabbinical Assembly) — at the Westin Boston Waterfront hotel in Boston. This event, the largest gathering of the Conservative movement since the 1960s, attracted more than 1,400 individuals, including more than 230 rabbis and 120 synagogue presidents from over 280 congregations and organizations (vs. 110 rabbis, 90 synagogue presidents, and 158 congregations at the most recent convention in 2017). Twenty two Conservative organizations were represented at the convention, including The Cantors Assembly, NAASE, Women’s League for Conservative Judaism, the Federation of Jewish Men’s Clubs, Jewish Educators Assembly, and more. Attendees came from 40 North American states and provinces, in addition to South America and Poland.

For those who were in attendance, we hope you left Boston with new ideas, innovative strategies, and refreshed energy to bring back to your home communities! And for those who were unable to join us, we encourage you to stay tuned for information on our next convention on December 10-14, 2021 in Toronto, Canada.

Now, as we prepare for the joy and celebration of the eight nights of Hanukkah, we want to share eight valuable community resources inspired by our time in Boston:

  1. An inspirational video message from International USY President, Noa Kligman.
  2. A listing of the Solomon Schechter award winners, including details of their innovative and groundbreaking synagogue programming.
  3. A video entitled, “Free To Be Me: What You Need to Know to Support LGBTQ+ Jewish Teens,” which premiered at the convention.
  4. Our 20/20 Judaism feedback survey, which helps us to learn so we can offer you the best convention experience in the future. Also, feel free to email [email protected] with any questions or additional feedback topics not covered by the survey.
  5. Learn how we are promoting accessibility for all with a new video: “The Power of Inclusion.”
  6. Read quotes and impressions from both first-time and veteran convention attendees.
  7. Follow up your convention experience with this free playlist from 20/20 Judaism speakers and performers.
  8. This photo album featuring selected highlight photos from 20/20 Judaism.

We look forward to seeing you December 10-14, 2021 in Toronto, Canada for our next convention.
