We are excited to announce that Sulam for Presidents will be back in person at the Pearlstone Retreat Center** this year!

If you are a newly elected or soon-to-be-elected synagogue president, save the dates of Thursday, March 10th through Sunday, March 13, 2022 for a leadership retreat and shabbaton that will help prepare you for your new role and connect you to other synagogue presidents across North America, all in the context of a spiritually uplifting shabbaton at a beautiful retreat center.

Our Sulam faculty includes Aimee Close, Director of Synagogue Leadership & Innovation, Bob Leventhal, Senior Leadership Consultant, Barry Mael, Senior Director of Synagogue Affiliations & Operations, and Rabbi Josh Rabin, Senior Director of Teen Engagement.  Other USCJ staff members will be joining us for parts of the program as well.

As always, the program will include sessions on identifying your leadership style, creating a leadership vision, the roles of the board and the executive committee, financial sustainability, and more.  We will also be adding some new sessions this year, including  a session on building more diverse & inclusive communities and a session on conflict management.

Space for this program will be limited.

Cost which includes housing and all meals is $900.

** While it is our hope that we will be able to be together in person, we also understand that things are constantly changing with regard to the pandemic.  If either USCJ or Pearlstone determines that it is not advisable to meet in person, we will of course move the program to a virtual format, and refunds will be issued accordingly.
