Next Generation Judaism: Meeting People Where They Are (Northeast District)

May 5, 2019 30 Nisan, 5779

Do we really understand the unique needs of our communities across age groups, interests, and passions? Rabbi Mike Uram's book Next Generation Judaism is a powerful wake up call to Jewish organizations about what Hillel can teach us about better understanding the under-engaged so that we can create institutions that genuinely meet their needs.

This workshop will help leaders unpack the ideas of Next Generation Judaism, think about the difference between "engagement" and "empowerment," and learn about some who are breaking the mold and rethinking how they speak to the needs of all kinds of people in their community.

As a benefit of USCJ affiliation, Rabbi Joshua Rabin, USCJ Director of Innovation, will provide a thought provoking workshop for synagogue leaders who are involved in the areas of membership, outreach, engagement, programming or welcoming in their communities.
