Marketing & Communications Coordinator

This junior position is responsible for directly supporting the marketing and communications team of a Jewish nonprofit in all aspects of their work, including content marketing, public relations, event marketing, and external communications.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Act as the point person for creation of newsletters and digital magazine, including liaising with all stakeholders and proactively curating content for future issues
  • Create high quality first drafts of a variety of communications, including emails and social media posts
  • Understand and apply brand guidelines to existing content and materials
  • Maintain and update marketing toolkit and account credentials
  • Keep organizational websites and other communications channels updated and accurate
  • Maintain and post on social media accounts on a number of platforms
  • Create and distribute analytics reports
  • Ensure contracts are signed and invoices are paid
  • At least 1-2 years of full-time work experience (not counting internships)

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in communications, English, marketing, journalism, or related field
  • Experience with project management software (e.g. Hootsuite), content management systems (e.g. Wordpress), email marketing providers (e.g. Constant Contact, MailChimp)
  • Basic experience with design software (e.g. InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.)
  • Very strong writing, proofreading , and copy editing skills
  • Detail oriented, highly organized, and excellent at time management
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work across organization with wide variety of professionals and lay leaders
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Ability to take direction and learn quickly
  • Proactive learner and a self-starter
  • Familiarity with Judaism and the Jewish non-profit world
