ABOUT USCJ

  • USCJ is the synagogue network organization for the Conservative Movement of Judaism in North America. We “Seek Meaning Together” by supporting and connecting congregations and their leaders, strengthening synagogue lay leaders and professionals, and helping congregations identify, embrace, and respond to the needs of the 21st century Jewish community. Our USY program engages thousands of teens in synagogues and other settings. Through a partnership with the Rabbinical Assembly, we also serve as a vital resource for the movement, working strategically to extend our reach to engage individuals beyond synagogue walls.

POSITION PURPOSE

  • This position is responsible for directly supporting the marketing and communications needs of USCJ programs, including content marketing, event marketing, and external communications. USCJ provides resources and assistance that strengthens synagogue communities across North America, and this position acts as a liaison for the organization’s program areas, representing their needs within the broader context of USCJ’s communications plans.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create and implement marketing plans for new and continuing initiatives
  • Create high quality first drafts of a variety of digital communications, including emails and social media posts
  • Assist with creation of blog posts and thought leadership articles
  • Create collateral for upcoming events, including webinars, conventions, and training seminars
  • Understand and apply brand guidelines to existing content and materials
  • Maintain and update marketing toolkit and account credentials
  • Keep organizational websites and other communications channels updated and accurate
  • Assist with CRM related needs for the Marketing Department


REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Three to five years of success in marketing and communications, or relevant and adaptable experience


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with project management software (e.g. Asana), content management systems (e.g. Wordpress), email marketing providers (e.g. Constant Contact, CiviMail)
  • Basic experience with design software (e.g. InDesign, Photoshop, Canva, etc.)
  • Experience planning social media strategy
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work across organization with wide variety of professionals and lay leaders
  • Ability to take direction and learn quickly
  • Proactive learner and a self-starter
  • Familiarity with Judaism and Synagogue life and functions
  • Creative thinker with the ability to handle multiple projects with concurrent deadlines
  • Attention to detail and ability to edit collateral for clarity and grammar
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; self-confident and articulate; motivated self-starter


LOCATION

  • Geographically Flexible | East Coast / Metro NY preferred
    • USCJ is located in New York City. The successful candidate may work remotely.
