Administrative Assistant – TED/USY

Mission Critical: 

United Synagogue Youth (USY) is the premier Jewish teen engagement program for the Conservative movement. Through our important work USY empowers Jewish youth to develop friendships, leadership skills, a sense of belonging to the Jewish People, a deep engagement with and love for Israel, and a commitment to inspire Jewish living through meaningful and fun experiences based on the ideology of Conservative Judaism.

Position Purpose

Under the direct supervision of the Senior Director of TED/USY, the Administrative Assistant will perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the organization’s Teen Engagement Department (TED)/USY.

Duties and Responsibilities 

The responsibilities of the Administrative Assistant – TED/USY includes, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Provides administrative high-level support to TED/USY.
  • Manages departmental email inboxes
  • Play an oversight role of our registration system Regpack platform
  • Update recruiting lists
  • Submit check request as necessary
  • Manages and submits monthly credit card reconciliations for TED, including organizing invoices and other receipts
  • Assist with website management
  • Connect with camps, JCC's, Jewish day/high schools to advertise events nationwide
  • Assist with the preparation of conventions
  • Gathering information for events such as submitting RFP’s and calling venues, caterers, for programming when needed
  • Provide support for summer programs 
  • Strategic Planning - work with consultants to provide necessary information for visioning/focus groups

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Drive
  • Ability to juggle multiple competing priorities
  • Familiarity with Regpacks and Constant Contact preferred but not required

Education and Experience:

  • BA or equivalent 
  • 3 years of administrative experience

Work Environment

  • Primarily remote with ability to attend in-person events when necessary
  • Occasional national travel required, primarily for major conferences

Compensation and Position Type

  • $20/hour
  • Part-time position for approximately 16 hours/week
  • Some evenings and weekends required
