SHABBAT SERVICES
All are invited to join our services.

Shabbat and Holiday/Festival services are listed on the congregational interactive online calendar and in Hotline.

We encourage participation in all of our services.  If you are interested in reading, assisting, leading, or providing a d'var Torah, and have expertise, please contact Congregation Vice President for Operations Janice Yellon.  Need to have a minyan for a yahrzeit?  Want to learn to read Torah or haftarah?  Contact Cantor Michael Rumack for information about training.

Friday evening Kabbalat Shabbat services are held weekly at 7 PM.  Check the congregational interactive online calendar and in Hotline for details.  We have family services, traditional services, a service including a speaker series, and unique services.

Here is a list of past speakers from our Fourth Friday Speaker Series.  Are you interested in speaking at a future Kabbalat Shabbat service?  Contact Janice Yellon.

We hold Shabbat morning services weekly, beginning at 9:30 AM at Congregation Etz Hadar.  These services are led by Cantor Michael Rumack.  We plan for full Torah services at least twice a month, but will have a Torah service whenever we have a minyan.  If we do not have a minyan, we still have a full service with a planned Torah study to replace the Torah service.

Congregation Etz Hadar has developed a "Scholars in Residence" program to work with Cantor Michael Rumack to create interesting Shabbatonim.  Deborah Silver, senior rabbinical student at AJU and past High Holy Days shliach tzibbur at CEH, was our first scholar (March-May 2009) with an educational program entitled, Torah L'Am.

Cantor Rumack is leading High Holy Days services for 5770 and is designing programs for holidays during the year for Bet Sefer Hadarim yeladim and congregants and friends of Etz Hadar.  Check our online calendar at calendar.yahoo.com/congregationetzhadar for the latest information.
