Welcome to the Institute for Conversion and Outreach Education (ICOE) of the New Jersey Region on the Rabbincal Assembly in conjunction with United Synagogue of New Jersey. The Introduction to Judaism class you will read about here is a great beginning for Jews who are interested in gaining a deeper understanding of their religion as well as for those contemplating conversion.
The program will be held at five sites this year. Courses are set to begin in Hoboken and Toms River on Wednesday, November 5, Fair Lawn and Livingston on Tuesday, November 11 and Perth Amboy on Thursday, November 6, 2008. Please see the attached materials for addresses and exact dates of all classes.
The course meets for 2 1/2 hours each week, from 7 to 9:30pm. Hebrew instruction takes place from 7-7:45pm, with the remainder of the time devoted to Judaica topics. A schedule and list of topics is attached.
Registration forms and information on fees are to be found after the course outline and information.
