Welcome to Ner Tamid -
a modern synagogue that feels like home.

Congregation Ner Tamid is an egalitarian Conservative synagogue located in San Francisco's Sunset district.

Established 65 years ago, Ner Tamid enjoys devoted and welcoming members, a learned and funny rabbi, a sweet-voiced cantor, a skilled Torah reader - and probably the best catering committee in town. (We do food. Lots of food.)

Our professionals work one-on-one with our children, challenging them to learn the full Shabbat service, while allowing them to work at their own pace and set their own b'nai mitzvah goals.

But it's not just the children who learn and participate in our services. Members regularly chant the haftarah, read from the Torah, or give a drash, and spontaneous discussions have been known to break out during the Rabbi's sermons.

So check us out. If you're looking for a synagogue that's traditional but not hidebound, familiar but not boring, modern but not too strange - why not try Congregation Ner Tamid?

We hold services every Thursday morning, Friday evening, and Saturday morning, as well mornings and evenings of every holiday.

Thursday, 9:30am: Shacharit and Torah Study

Friday, 6:00pm: Kabbalat Shabbat and Ma'ariv

Saturday, 9:30am: Shacharit, Torah Service, and Musaf
