Legacy Heritage
Innovation Project Grants:
For the next funding cycle (August 2009 – July 2010), the
Legacy Heritage Innovation Project will award grants of up to $30,000
to synagogues developing alternative educational models integrating
adult, family, and children’s learning into home and/or communal
Shabbat and holiday practice, cultivating “best practices” which
might be adapted by other congregations. In addition, grantees
will be eligible to apply for additional funding of up to $30,000
per year for up to three additional years.
Any congregation may apply for a Legacy Heritage Innovation Project
Grant by submitting a Letter of Intent by Wednesday, December
3, 2008. A limited number of congregations which submit Letters
of
Intent will be invited by Friday, January 6, 2009 to submit
full proposals for funding; these more detailed proposals will
be due
by Thursday, February 6, 2009.
Each recipient congregation receives a one-year grant of up
to $30,000 and becomes eligible to apply for funding of up
to $30,000
per year for up to three additional years. Many USCJ congregations
have benefited in recent years from these grants. There will
be a conference call for those who have questions or would
like more
information about the grants and the application process.
The call will be held on Wednesday, November 5, at 2 p.m. Eastern
Time.
The call-in number is 1-800-605-5167, and the pass code to
participate is 664576#. RSVP to Rabbi Margolius at 212-578-8190
(ext. 106)
