Support of Reproductive Health Care Workers (1999)

WHEREAS, The United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism is a member of the Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice; and

WHEREAS, Drs. David Gunn, Wayne Patterson, John Britton and Barnett Slepian and other reproductive health care workers have been murdered by opponents of legal abortion while others have suffered bodily injury at their hands; and

WHEREAS, The United Synagogue is outraged at this loss of life and is greatly concerned about the threat to others.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that The United Synagogue supports the enforcement of laws that protect the safety of physicians and other reproductive healthcare workers; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that The United Synagogue expresses its profound appreciation and support for the physicians and other reproductive health care workers.
