Solomon Schechter Day Schools (1993)
WHEREAS, the Solomon Schechter Day Schools are affiliated with THE UNITED SYNAGOGUE OF CONSERVATIVE JUDAISM; and
WHEREAS, the Solomon Schechter Day Schools provide thousand of Jewish children with an intensive education in Torah and Hebrew language, and are grounded in a commitment to Jewish peoplehood; and
WHEREAS, Solomon Schechter Day Schools provide an education based on a Conservative approach to Jewish study and Jewish living and synagogues are the fundamental institution for nurturing and expression of a commitment to Jewish life for families; and
WHEREAS, United Synagogue congregations and Solomon Schechter Day Schools share the same religious goals and purposes.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Solomon Schechter Day Schools and United Synagogue Congregations in the area work together to form a close cooperative relationship, with particular record for:
- The recruitment of students for Solomon Schechter Day Schools, and
- The development of a program to encourage all nonaffiliated families whose children attend Solomon Schechter Day Schools to join a congregation affiliated with United Synagogue
- The encouragement of participation and integration of students of Solomon Schechter Day Schools in all age appropriate programs within the congregations to which students belong.
