In Honor of 25 Years of the Center for Conservative Judaism in Israel (1997)
WHEREAS, the programs for the Center for Conservative Judaism in Israel, under the direction of Rabbi Pesach Schindler, have greatly benefited the goals and aspirations of Conservative-Masorti Judaism in Israel; and
WHEREAS, the Center has pioneered and developed programs of Torah study since its very inception serving many thousands of students; and
WHEREAS, the Center has initiated, developed, and expanded during this period many significant educational outreach programs for young people from abroad, such as USY, Nativ, the Center on Campus in Israel, the newly established Yeshiva, and has served as Israel headquarters for USY Pilgrimage, the New Jersey Solomon Schechter High School Seniors (Neshama), "USY High" in Israel and USY Advisors and Leadership missions, as well as serving our constituency in a plethora of programs designed to enhance their Israel visit;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that THE UNITED SYNAGOGUE OF CONSERVATIVE JUDAISM reaffirms its commitment to strengthen the programs offered at the Center for many more years of increased creativity in Zion and Jerusalem by fulfilling its plans to expand the facility by building a new center at 6 Agron Street and renovating the space at 2 Agron Street; and
BE IT FUTHER RESOLVED, that THE UNITED SYNAGOGUE OF CONSERVATIVE JUDAISM encourages members of affiliated congregations to visit the Center; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that THE UNITED SYNAGOGUE OF CONSERVATIVE JUDAISM will help make congregations more aware of the programs taking place at the Center.
