Hazak (2002)
WHEREAS seniors represent over one third of the North American population and are the fastest growing segment within the Jewish Community, and
WHEREAS seniors are living longer and enjoying better health, and therefore are more active and experience the desire to pursue active lifestyles, and
WHEREAS many congregations within the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism are unable to foster sufficient programming and activities geared to seniors, and
WHEREAS HAZAK has been established by the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism as it's official senior organization, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED that each region appoint a commission dedicated to the formation and maintenance of congregational HAZAK chapters, and [be encouraged to sponsor and financially support personnel to assist in implementing this mission], and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that every affiliated congregation be encouraged to sponsor and financially support a HAZAK chapter as an arm of the congregation and that the president of the chapter be recognized with a seat on the synagogue board of directors.
